Elderberry has been proven to stop illness from manifesting, and can shorten the duration of an existing virus. The addition of echinacea, turmeric, and ginger can help speed recovery, soothe inflamed membranes, and calm a queasy stomach.
Empty the contents into a small pot, and add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 10mins or liquid is reduced by half. Strain mixture, add honey to taste. Transfer mixture to an airtight bottle, and store in the refrigerator. Will keep up to 4 weeks.
Take a teaspoon by mouth or in a small amount of water 2-3 times a day when you feel an illness coming on, or to shorten the duration of an existing illness.
